About Us

Our
Story
Hi, my name is Seth Armstrong. I founded Armstrong Quality Construction in August of 2015. It was also the same year I became a father. We are a family owned business, I do the designs and coordinate, and build the projects, and my wife does all the taxes and book keeping. We have three beautiful children and we are expecting our fourth. I started in Construction when I was 16 years old working for my cousin, pouring concrete foundations. My father and grandfather were both electricians, but I decided I wanted to build. When I was 20 years old I became an apprentice, for a master carpenter. He taught me to be an expert cut man. Then I spent a few years working in hardware stores. This has helped me more than I could have ever imagined. From knowing all the available materials and tools, to understanding the ins and outs of a hardware store.
When I was 30 years old I got a job, helping build a house, one week later they fired everyone and made me the head carpenter building the house. This was my first time leading a crew. I learned a lot on this project. I learned how to make material lists, how to coordinate the guys, and how to build a house from the ground up. It also instilled in me, that I could build anything I put my mind to.
After building this house I had the confidence to start my own Construction company. Since I founded the company, I have learned so much. I am truly grateful to be able to learn new things on every job that we do. In 2021, I passed the builders exam, which is a 4 hour timed test. The only thing you are allowed to have is your code book. Studying for this exam was very challenging. I remember thinking the things in this test are for engineers, why do I need to know all this? But now that I understand how to use the building code, and look up the exact information I need based on the situation. It has been a game changer. I have always loved to draw and to design plans for people. But now I can design things, and make them meet the standards of the International Building Code.
One thing about me is that I love a challenge. If you tell me you want to build something crazy that's never been done before, that's the kind of thing that excites me. I Love to expose the beauty of old houses, most old houses are built with craftsmanship, and I enjoy the challenge of being just as crafty. I also love to design and build custom homes. So if you have a construction project you are dreaming up, challenge me, I would love to design, and build your next project.
